What is International Money Transfer and How Does It Work?

SOLmate allows you to send money to over 180 countries quickly and securely using the International Money Transfer feature built into the app.

How do I get started?

Before sending your first transfer, you'll need to complete a once-off registration and identity verification.
To register:
  1. Open the SOLmate app
  2. Go to Services
  3. Select International Money Transfer
  4. Tap Get Verified and follow the prompts
If your verification is unsuccessful, you can tap Chat to Support in the same section to get help via WhatsApp.

Who can use international money transfers?

Only customers aged 18 or older with a valid South African ID or passport can use this service.

ATM Deposits
Same day or by the next business day
EFT in
Can take up to 3 business days, depending on your bank’s processing time.
RTC (Real-Time Clearing) in
Reflects within 1 hour, even on weekends and public holidays. I
Retail Deposits (Pay@ barcode)
Reflect within 15 minutes to a few hours, but may take up to 1 business day.
WiCode Deposit
Immediately
EFT out
May take up to 3 business days, depending on the recipient’s bank.
RTC (Real-Time Clearing) out
Funds should reflect within 60 minutes, depending on the receiving bank. On weekends, it may take up to 1 day for funds to reflect.
Ewallet
Recipient should receive an SMS with voucher details within a few minutes.
wiCode Withdrawal & deposit
The code must be used at the selected retailer within 60 minutes.
